Essay Writing Tips - Choosing Correct 5th Grade Essay SamplesIf you are one of the many students in your school who wish to earn an honorable mention in your school's essay competition, then you must know the importance of choosing correct essay samples. But how can you do so? The trick lies in keeping your essay samples as simple as possible so that it can be easily edited and shortened for your use. Here are some tips to remember:* Identify the Sample You will first need to know the kind of essay that you are writing. This will help you find out which sample you need to include in your essay. Most of the time, essays that deal with sports will not necessarily require the use of a baseball player as the author's viewpoint. Thus, this is a good time to use an athlete who happens to be a 'popular' celebrity. For instance, the topic could be about professional athletes of the recent past, present, or future.* Identify the Athletes You will now need to decide which athletes or sportsmen you would like to use in your essay. For example, if you are writing about football players, then you may want to use Michael Vick, Tiger Woods, or Lance Armstrong. Similarly, if you are writing about basketball players, there are many good ones like Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, or Kobe Bryant. Basketball is a sport in which players often have to work hard during their career to gain more victories. They tend to be the more successful than the other sports.* Pick the Sample You will now need to decide which school or authority in the subject of your study should be your sample. This will vary according to what your school's subject is. For example, if you are studying astronomy, it would be more appropriate for you to choose the author of Sun Tzu. He is an important Chinese military theorist and statesman who lived in the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty. He was born around120 BC and died at the age of fifty-six in 100 BC. As you probably know, he wrote the famous book, 'The Art of War.'* Choose the Authority You will next need to choose the source you will be using as your source for your essay. It could be your school's essay contest judges, the editor of your school's newspaper, or even the state secretary of your country. One good advantage of using a person in such an authority is that you have the authority to base your essay on him/her.* Choose the Sample You will next need to select a genre in which your essay will be based. This can be either the conventional essay which usually discusses the subject matter itself, or the survey essay which is a research type of essay. There are a number of essay topics such as sociology, ethics, etc. which are popular in colleges and universities as well as in high schools. These are the basic principles that you should keep in mind before picking up your samples. You can now go ahead and get ready to create the masterpiece of your college or university. Remember, the essence of scholarship lies in your abilit y to analyze, write, edit, and summarize your essay to achieve the required honorific or recognition you have to do so.
